This compliance tip explains what a listing compliance notice is, why you might receive one, and the steps you should take to resolve it.
What is a Compliance Notice?
If a compliance violation is found on your listing, you will receive an email from [email protected]
The notice will include:
- Listing information
- Name of the violation
- Description explaining why the notice was sent
- A link to the potentially violated rule
Important Details to Review
When reviewing your notice, be sure to:
- Read all instructions carefully
- Pay close attention to notes in blue (these are added by staff and often include specific guidance)
- Review the linked rule for full context
How to Respond
To reply to your compliance notice:
- Click Reply All in your email
- Ensure your response is sent to:
[email protected] - Include any requested documentation or corrections
Important:
Do not send your reply to the listingdatachecker email. Always use Reply All to send your response to [email protected].
Understanding the Grace Period
Each notice includes a grace period, which is the timeframe you have to:
- Correct your listing
- Provide required documentation
- Request assistance from the CVR MLS team
Acting within the grace period allows you to:
- Avoid fines
- Keep your listing compliant
- Maintain accurate and reliable MLS data
If no action is taken during the grace period, the violation will escalate to a fine. Once assessed, fines can only be waived with a valid CVR MLS fine waiver earned before receiving notice of a violation. You can take the on-demand version of the Road Rules Compliance course for an MLS rules refresher and earn a $250 fine waiver that’s good for 12 months from the time the class is taken.
Transcript
In this video we will explain the listing compliance notice and what you should do if you receive one.
If a compliance violation is found on your listing, a notice will be emailed to you from listingdatachecker@corelogic.com. This notice will include the listing information, the violation name, and a description explaining the reason the notice was sent. Notices will also contain a link to the rule being potentially violated. Pay special attention to any instructions you see written in blue. These notes are added by staff when the notice is sent.
There will be instructions on how to reply to the notice and what documents to provide. When replying, you should select "reply all" to have your response sent to [email protected]. Please do not copy/paste the listing data checker email address into their "to" replies.
Notices will also display the Grace Period. The grace period is the timeframe to make corrections to your listings, provide any necessary documentation, or request assistance from the CVR MLS team. Most MLS violations are correctable. By acting within this period, you can keep your listing compliant, avoid unnecessary fines and help maintain accurate, reliable, and verifiable CVR MLS data.
If your grace period closes without any action or response from you, it will move to a fine. Once a fine is assessed, it can only be waived with a valid Road Rules of CVR MLS fine waiver. Fine Waivers can only be used if they are earned before receiving notice of a violation. You can take the On-Demand version of this course for an MLS rules refresher and earn a $250 fine waiver that is good for twelve months from the time the class is taken.
