Q: What should I do if the square footage for my listing does not match the tax record?

A: If your square footage source is anything other than the tax record, you will need to upload documentation to back up the measurements you’ve entered.

Also, if your listing has finished basement square footage, be sure not to "double dip." Ideally, the Finished Square Footage field should only include above grade finished square footage and Finished Square Footage - Basement field should only include below grade finished square footage.

However, if your documentation includes basement square footage in the total finished square footage figure, do not also put the basement square footage in the Finished Square Footage - Basement field. This will cause the system to count the Finished Basement Square Footage twice - a "double dip."
