CVR MLS new Rules and Regulations will be effective in early August. While most of these rules are in response to the NAR Settlement Agreement, there are some new practice rules you should be aware of.
Section 1.2 – Service Area (DEFERRED IMPLEMENATION)
CVR MLS will delay implementation of this rule and will communicate the go-live date once determined.
CVR MLS is sunsetting its defined service area. With changes in practice and the expansion of data and technology capabilities, our coverage has expanded beyond the historical boundaries set many decades ago.
CVR MLS users should enter all listings into the MLS that fall into the “required” category regardless of location. Agents have access to tax information to all Virginia jurisdictions, to support your listing details.
Rule 5.8.1 – Photo Entry Date
Based upon User feedback, CVR MLS will now require all active listings to have at least one photo of the property. Previously, agents had up to three days from activation to add photos, but with the speed of data distribution and client portal delivery, it was requested that this gap be removed.
Therefore, please ensure your active listings have at least one photo of the property when you go live in Matrix.
There were other administrative changes that were made to align rules with policy and adjust language to support the August changes. Please see the redline of changes for a full view of all the changes that were made.
